Hi all,
I spend a whole day to get the examples working. I gave up at the end of the day because the linkage between all the libary projects is not working for me.
I'm a expirenced java devolper (it's my job since 5 years) but devloping for Android is new for me. Is the way of linkage of the sub project common for android projects? At work I use maven to solve such kind of dependencies. Unfortunally maven is not used in andengine.

Is there a way to download always the latest jar files some where? I don't like to go some revisions back.

I was wondering if it's such as hard for me as a devloper to get the examples working, how hard will it be for beginners?

Thanks,
Christian

At this point, I'm not sure what the purpose behind the examples is anymore. The way I got started was to get the core AndEngine compiling, which is pretty straight forward. After that I created my own project, imported the AndEngine JAR I created, and began work from scratch. I occasionally reference the example source, on Google, when I'm trying to figure out how to get something to work, but I've never loaded the example code into Eclipse itself.

Hi!
I followed your tutorial and I have reached the end of it.
But now, I have errors in the AndEngine_src imported into my project.

What should I do now?
Thank u

Solved using andengine.jar (one of the latest revisions)

When you downloaded the Android SDK, did you download the component Android 2.2 (API 8)?
If so, is the Manifest file in your project set to use API 8 ?

Hm. If I set 2.2, it gives a lot of errors (about 700) at the @Override keywords (it says that this keyword is not needed).

Same error here, ETC1 cannot be resolved. No red mark on AndEngine, but in the example code (with linked source to the engine) there is. Been sitting with this for 4-5 hours now, I'm on the verge of giving up completely.

Why not putting the whole engine including all extensions into a single .jar instead of wobbling back and forth this way? Never seen such hassle on any other project before.
