Just watched this tutorial after going through all this pain a while back and you make it sound so smooth. I wished I had this tutorial back when I moved over to the library way of doing AndEngine. Well done on the excellent videos.

hey! I'm running windows 7... I followed you video tutorial on how to install mercurial for eclipse but as it installs the files I get an error and it fails to install...

here is the copy of error report:

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=SDKProfile, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).
Unable to read repository at HTTP://cbes.javaforge.com/update/plugin ... _1.9.3.jar.
Read timed out

kindly give me advice or any other option on how to use andEngine.. Thanks guys!

I'm new to AndEngine, so I tried to follow your tutorials.

In your Video, when you clone the andEngine, the "default" branch is active.
On my Computer it's "inactive". So i got a lot of errors and I think it's because of this. So could anyone please tell me how I can change it from "inactive" to "active"? :)

(btw: sorry for my bad english.)

I'm not sure. Anybody out there know why a Mercurial clone might become inactive?

Please help!

I did things as according to the tutorial, but in tutorial no 2 there is an error in the Andengine examples' src folder that for the maker of the vid disappears but for me it stays. :(
How can I solve the problem? The error says something like this "Type java.lang.Enum cannot be resolved. It is indirectly referenced from a required .class file." and a few other similar sentence.
Please help! I am trying to learn how to use Andengine for educational purposes - as a school project. (My school doesn't teach any adroid stuff tho' but I could change that if I manage to introduce some of the capabilities of it via a neat game).

I don't understand what you are saying but you can try this...
Right click on each extension and choose properties, then set the compiler compliance level to 1.6
Then again link all the extensions to your examples project.

Wow! Thanks, you solved the problem n .n

Now I can start working on my project! I'll be around though, since I am a noob and will very likely encounter problems that I do not understand. Thanks again!
