Thanks for creating this forum too!!

Anyhow, Youtube is blocked by my Network Admin.
is the screencast available somewhere else (like on vimeo) too??

If you can't access the youtube, it pretty much just rebuilds the sprite example. I would take a look at that source code, and go from there.

Hi Walter,
WalterSear wrote:This framework is very exciting, congrats Nicolas on making something so useful and needed.

Thanks :)

WalterSear wrote:I was wondering: is there an overview of the architecture somewhere? I am going through the example apps, and would find it much easier to follow if I had a quick sheet to refer to, and a basic explanation of the intended usage for the various classes.

No currently there is nothing online to access. Thats what should be put into a WiKi.

WalterSear wrote:I'm taking notes as I progress, if there isn't anything in place, if/when I get to the point where I am comfortable with Andengine, maybe I can upload them somewhere as a wiki?

Yes, a WiKi would be something very useful. I'll set one up soon, but I have to "defend" my Bachelor-Thesis in about a week.

Nicolas

good luck. I am sure you will do well.

I'll keep plugging away, and hopefully by the time there is a wiki, I might be in a position to contribute.

I followed the video and created a working game by copying and pasting the code from SpriteExample. Great

I then tried to copy the code from the PhysicsJumpExample and there were a few dependency issues etc but i fixed them. When i run the game it crashed straight away with an 'Application not responding' error and the following from the debug log:

Hi,

sound like you forgot to copy the native physics library:
Caused by: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Library andenginephysicsbox2dextension not found

It can be found here: http://code.google.com/p/andengineexamp ... bs/armeabi

Hope this helped :)

at the begining i have to say that your work is amazing ;)

i have some notes for video you have made ...
1) i am developing under linux and linux version of eclipse dont have option "add to buildpath" so i have to import your package ... maybe you should mention it in video

2) can you make some example package whitch others just download and run in eclipse? i have forgotten the wake_lock permision and it takes me 2 hours to realize why it doesnt work :-D

Erm... now I don't know what is meant with "import your package" (You don't mean the java import statement, right?)

I'll have a look if I find a solution that doesn't consume to much time to be updated all the time.
Oh and I changed the andengine.jar not to crash anymore, when WAKE_LOCK permission was not set. It now logs under the "AndEngine"-Debugtag:
08-07 16:16:16.387: ERROR/AndEngine(31815): You have to add
08-07 16:16:16.387: ERROR/AndEngine(31815): <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WAKE_LOCK"/>
08-07 16:16:16.387: ERROR/AndEngine(31815): to your AndroidManifest.xml !

thx Nicolas for this great engine, i was writing some code (based on the examples) and going into source code in order to understand some functions while you publish some api docs.

Again thx a lot for your engine.
