Is it maybe possible to add more explanations over TEXT part? Because I don't really understand how FONT parameter work :s
And I come from Slick Framework for PC, could you maybe explain us (in a Tutorial topic) how to manage update/render cycli for our game?

About font, check AndEngine examples for GLES2, there is simple example how to load custom font from your assets, that's why it was pointless to describe this part.

Just updated few tutorials where it was necessary to correct code highlighting and space formatting, previously it was really messed in many cases.

Hello Mathew, Love your New blog, very good for beginners, i cant wait to read more more n more tutorials like those..
yes please put more good tutorials and things we need in games usually like u did with coin, jump etc.

btw i wanted to ask you, i m trying to make a 2d game, which is basically a road, a car (player) 3 lanes on road, player car is moving ( or road is moving idk yet lol ) other cars appear and we have to move left and right to avoid bang. + the car can jump on certain type of vehicles if all 3 lanes are occupied.

now my question is how do i make it happen.. 2 main problems i m unable to understand how to achieve.
1st. moving road like it appears that car is moving continously .. use autoparallex?
2nd. how do you implement a jump in top view game, not side scrolling.

1. Parallax background should be suitable for your needs.

2. It depends on how you want to implement everything, with physics or without, if with physics you simply may add linear velocity like you would do (like in my jump tutorial for example) but with little difference, with X parameter, and 0 in Y parameter.

You can't jump on the Z axis in a 2d game because there is no z axis. You can simulate the jump i.e. make the sprite bigger to create the illusion that it's getting higher and disable collisions with other cars while jumping. Then make it smaller and enable collisions.
