Hi there,
I have used Gleed2D aswell its very good, The only problem I can really see is the preview pane uses XNA to render the display so it could be different when loaded on your device. Although there is no reason why this would interfere if you set the level size to something the device can take.
If you want to fork the project i will gladly help out with making it work with Andengine all that really needs to be done is altering the XML parser that comes with Gleed to work with Andengine. Its also not tile based which is cool but may cause issues with loading on big maps so testing would need to be done.
