Motorola and Long Touch

Postby Ctrl+Alt+Del » Mon Apr 11, 2011 9:42 pm

I dont know how many of you have handsets manufactured by Motorola, but it seems they have implemented a "feature" to protect against false touches where on extended long touches, the system will fire an ACTION_UP event. Here is a linkto a thread on the Moto dev site describing the issue with no resolve.

If any of you have Motorola devices, would you mind confirming that this is true by testing it?

Also, if it is at all possible to circumvent this "feature" with a clever hack, I would love to hear it.

The reason I am so interested is that I am working on a game in which you touch and drag to aim (not unlike Angry Birds) and then release to fire a bow and arrow, and as you could imagine, having the game firing before you're ready would be annoying at the least.
