Stop physics handler

I'm currently using physics handler to set velocity for my sprite to go from point A to outside the screen. But as I'm setting it to change to hit another sprite upon touch (Meaning i touch another sprite, it zooms to the other sprite instead using moveModifier). I want to know if there is a particular way for me to stop the physicsHandler's velocity?

And I know you will say to not use physics handler, but it is pretty much the only way i can set the random motion of sprites moving across the screen in a linear fashion without coordinates as the sprites are generated at random (and they need to exit the screen randomly as well, without all going to the same point)

Would appreciate any help possible
