So, Nicolas, you really are that Saint everybody's talking about those days. :)
I thought something was cooking there on North pole, when you were so secretly quiet if someone mentioned GLES2 here on forums.

I wish you great holidays too! ;)

As we can see source is now available, great.

Does anyone managed to clone projects? Cuase, I'm using Git plugin for eclipse, and I have errors while trying to clone.

'upload pack not found'

Anyone may know whats the reason?

/edit

adding ".git" on the end of the url's solved problem.

Is there a .jar kicking about yet? And have the examples on the market been updated yet?

Thanks Nicholas, you're brilliant!

Same question. Is ANY of the examples working?
I'm so mad right now, because I had my project running perfectly. I knew that the new version of AndEngine would require some changes in my code, but I wouldn't have guess that even the really basic events were changed...

Anyways, reading the examples I realize that the basic events (like onCreateScene) returns Scene class, while when overriding from the actual source of AngEngine onCreateScene is void!!
WTF???

I'd like to see some examples, or even better, a proper patch to all examples in the Examples repo in git.

Regards!

PS: Maybe I could sound kind of angry, and I am, because right now I'm pissed of because anything at all of my project is working, but I really do appreciate the changes and I understand that they are necessary.

You sound angry and you shouldn't. No one forced you to update andengine to this version. If you can't figure it out, then wait until there's some documentation about it.

As for the examples, notice that the repo doesn't contain the proper abstracted lifecycle methods.

for example, you should go through every single example and change this:
Syntax: [ Download ] [ Hide ]
Using java Syntax Highlighting
  1.         public Scene onCreateScene() {
  2.
  3. }
Parsed in 0.031 seconds, using GeSHi 1.0.8.4

to this:

Syntax: [ Download ] [ Hide ]
Using java Syntax Highlighting
  1.         public void onCreateScene(OnCreateSceneCallback pOnCreateSceneCallback)
  2.         throws Exception {
Parsed in 0.030 seconds, using GeSHi 1.0.8.4

You'll also have to do this with onCreateResources as well (look up the proper implementation).

Lastly, getTextureManager().loadTexture(mBitmapTextureAtlas) rather than mBitmapTextureAtlas.load(); ... for an easy fix.

Hi guys,

I started committing all repos to github a couple of hours ago, but had to adjust the AndEngineExamples for the most recent changes (Finished now!). Everything should be working fine. :)

Happy holidays :)

Best Regards,
Nicolas

When trying to build a project with latest andengine in .jar form:

[2011-12-23 13:40:55 - Project] The library 'andengine.jar' contains native libraries that will not run on the device.
[2011-12-23 13:40:55 - Project] The following libraries were found:
[2011-12-23 13:40:55 - Project] - libs/armeabi/libandengine.so
[2011-12-23 13:40:55 - Project] - libs/armeabi-v7a/libandengine.so
[2011-12-23 13:40:55 - Project] - libs/x86/libandengine.so

I've so far just tried copying the new andengine libs folder to my project with no success.

Every time I get this problem I manage to fix it, but I can never recall how I fixed it -_-.
